WARRI—A youth leader in Ogbe-Ijoh community, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, Mr. Nathaniel Oromoni, yesterday, said that the youths of the community neither made any incursion nor kill an Urhobo indigene, James Elvis, at Aladja, Udu Local Government Area of the state, last Saturday. Oromoni told Vanguard: “We are surprised about the baseless claim of Aladja that they were attacked by people of Ogbe-Ijoh. We did not attack them. They were the ones that attacked us and we only repelled their attack. We did not kill anybody in Aladja, but some persons from Ogbe-Ijoh were hit by stray bullets which could also be applicable to Aladja. “The security agents drafted for peace keeping are our witnesses. They attacked us on December 9. We managed to repel them and on December 10, they attacked us in the morning again, and seized two 200 horse-power speed boats belonging to Warri South-West council chairman, George Ekpemupolo, at Warri River, with one of the drivers still missing. “And again, in the afternoon of the same day, they attacked us and we repelled them. But this time around, it resulted into a heavy gun battle, which left some of our people wounded. “We did not advance to Aladja. We have been peaceful and law- abiding, we are still honouring the peace accord that both communities signed. They came and beheaded our fish farmer last week and as if that was not enough, they are coming again to attack and kill Ogbe-Ijoh people.”
