Nigerians have come down hard on ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, after he (OBJ) attacked President Muhammadu Buhari for dwelling too much on the past and failing to turn around the fortunes of the country.
Nigerians have lashed out at Chief Olusegun Obasanjo over his comments regarding the Buhari-led administration. While delivering the keynote address at the First Akintola Williams Annual Lecture in Lagos on Wednesday, November 23, Obasanjo lashed out at the Buhari administration for accusing all previous administrations of mis-governance. He advised that since Buhari was elected to change the country, he should concentrate on clearing the mess he inherited. Following the statements, Nigerians have come against Obasanjo, taking to social media platforms to vent their displeasure. Mithras Love said: “This was the same Obasanjo I watched dancing the same day Buhari was declared winner. He was so happy GEJ lost the election. Kanmi Oyenuga said: “Can anybody blame PMB for complaining? There are too many enemies of nigeria progress he is contending with yet he is expected to act like a democratic president and not a dictator.” Chinedu Okpara warned that “Obasanjo will soon tear his cloth in public”, adding: “I know he doesn’t have APC party card to tear…shame” Mike Godly said: “The president is really working hard no doubt about that but he is yet to get the economy right . The militants are making matters worse.” Meanwhile, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Jude Mbachu, in Imo State has appealed to President Muhammadu Buahri to intervene in the crises affecting the party, stressing that top shots of the party should not be allowed to defect from the party. Addressing reporters in Owerri, the state capital, Mbachu said Buhari’s intervention in the crises rocking APC will help prevent the party from collapse.
